Job description

beBright is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Patient Relations Supervisor.

Our doctor-owned and led shared services organization is centered around providing administrative and operational support with unlimited growth opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
• Manage the patient relations team and its patient outreach and inbound balance call functions.
• Coach staff, set outreach and call service standards, and balance daily workload.
Outreach and Collections Handoff:
• Support the statements team on managing patient outreach and the handoff of accounts to the external collections agency.
• Oversee the patient collections approval queue, verifying that outreach is complete and no holds apply (such as active treatment, pending insurance, or open disputes) before approving accounts for handoff.
Escalations and Patient Experience:
• Handle escalated patient accounts, disputes, and hardship cases with sound, compliant judgment.
• Ensure patient financial communications maintain a positive patient experience.
Reporting:
• Track patient AR aging and self-pay recovery, and report on outreach and collections performance to management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient AR, patient financial services, or collections, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Empathetic and professional patient communication skills, especially regarding financial conversations.
• Familiarity with collections compliance (e.g., FDCPA) and payment-plan governance.
• Working knowledge of dental practice management systems and patient ledgers.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
