Job Summary

Refunds, researches, and reviews credit balance accounts. Pulls files, insurance EOBs and zero statements to research and review accounts that have credit balances, refunding the proper party based on completed research. Answers all patient's questions concerning a credit balance. Corrects any accounts via the patient account system that need adjustments to update status. Works all incoming mail concerning credit balances. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

- Require a minimum of one (1) year of relevant healthcare or cash posting experience. An Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field can be considered in lieu of the required experience.


Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a distinct speaking voice and good listening skills.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to type a minimum of forty-five (45) words per minute, as well as, ten- (10-) key adding abilities.
- Prefer organizational skills and an understanding of the importance of internal controls.
- Prefer the ability to interact with public and handle difficult situations diplomatically.
- Prefer working knowledge of Managed Care, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursements.
