Company Overview
Georgia Eye Partners is a specialty eye care practice in Metro Atlanta comprised of ophthalmologist and optometrists dedicated to providing patients with the highest quality medical and surgical eye care. Our services range from general eye care to complex surgical care for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, and refractice. We offer LASIK and other refractive surgery options as well as oculoplastic surgery and laser aethetic procedures through OPAL Aesthetics.
Position Summary
The Physician Liaison serves as a representative for the doctors and services provided at the Practice. As a representative, they bridge the gap of communication between referring doctors and specialty physicians. During these provider liaison visits, they meet with referring doctors to discuss patient care, referrals, and new treatments.
Responsibilities
  • Develops and fosters relationships with referring physicians to increase patient referrals. Consistently works to ensure solid relationships and referral pathways are smooth.
  • Leads initiatives to build volume and favorable provider perceptions among internal and external referral streams.
  • Increases visibility of services by strategically visiting targeted referral sources.
  • Identifies tactics to promote provider interaction and engagement.
  • Oversees efforts to ensure Practice is positioned competitively to protect and grow market share. This includes routine analysis of the strengths and services of competitors.
  • Develops and implements an ongoing method of profiling and monitoring market areas to identify demographic, competitor, and changes in healthcare services.
  • Uses patient survey scores from practices and hospital services to identify opportunities to correct items that have a negative impact on referrals.
  • Measures and evaluates liaison activities including producing and sharing regular summaries of patient visits and their outcomes as well as their impact on referral trends.
  • Meets with local practices, hospital administrators, physicians, and clinical directors as needed to build upon the referral network.
  • Continuously networks and provides practice/physician brochures to referring physicians, hospitals, and practices.
  • Organize and schedule necessary physician meetings.
  • Delivers weekly reporting of the previous week's visits, including highlights outcome, and plan for follow up strategy.
  • Delivers weekly reporting of plan for the following week including visits, plan, admin, and lunch and learns.
  • Assists with the setup of all educational meetings for referring physicians and internal staff.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in meeting the needs of the referring physician and problem solving to maintain healthy referral relationships.
  • Contributes to the team effort by completing other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in healthcare sales strongly preferred.
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Experience analyzing data, statistics, and product lines.
  • General medical knowledge, especially related to our facility's services, treatment offerings, and equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability to use persuasive communication, leadership, and relationship/rapport building.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, patient service-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to promote quality improvement through development and maintenance of standards.
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external.
  • Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
  • Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams.
