We close at 12:30pm every Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day — giving our team more time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the summer sunshine!

Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced professional to join our growing Massachusetts CBHI team as a CBHI Intake Coordinator!

The CBHI Intake Coordinator manages all aspects of the registration and admissions process for Northeast Family Services’ five regions in Massachusetts. They are responsible for working closely and extensively with various referral sources throughout the entirety of the referral, waitlist, and assignment process, as well as maintaining client rosters for waitlist, active, transfer, and discharged clients. They process intake paperwork and required clinical documentation, such as comprehensive assessments and treatment plans. This role manages the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Access (MABHA) updates on a monthly basis. They are also responsible for answering incoming calls, gathering referral information, verifying insurance coverage, and scheduling clients’ appointments.

To be successful in the CBHI Intake Coordinator position, you should be highly organized, detail oriented, and have a working knowledge of payer portals, co-pays, deductibles, and health insurance benefits. Top candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes program directors, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and peers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and helping clients/families with complex behavioral health needs
  • Must have prior experience with behavioral health field and familiarity with CBHI performance specifications
  • Extensive knowledge or experience of assessing for appropriate level of care for CBHI services and the capacity to effectively manage and/or triage crisis, safety and risk.
  • At least 1 year of patient intake and scheduling experience
  • Experience reviewing comprehensive assessments and treatment plans
  • Working knowledge of insurance benefits and authorizations
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Ability to keep client and company confidences
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
