Job description

Pankratz Eye Institute located in Columbus, IN, is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. Pankratz Eye Institute is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering quality patient care using the nursing process and organizational policies. The RN ensures that all patients receive the highest standard of care with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care for patients undergoing eye procedures.
  • Monitors patients' vital signs and responds to any changes in condition.
  • Administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
  • Provides pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborates effectively with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
  • Adheres to infection control protocols and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients.

Required Skills

 Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
  • Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
