Tallavera is seeking a local contract nurse RN First Assist for a local contract nursing job in Rochester, New York.

Tallavera is currently seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) in Rochester, NY to work at a state-of-the-art surgical center. Preferred candidates for the Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) position will have two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience. The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) will be responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative outpatient surgery services.

Shift Mon-Friday days - NO WEEKENDS!

Shift: 8-hour shift between 5:30 AM and 4:00 PM

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA):

  • Function as the Registered Nurse First Assistant during surgical procedures under the direction of the surgeon
  • Provide intraoperative assistance including tissue handling, exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and wound closure within the RNFA scope of practice
  • Perform comprehensive preoperative and postoperative patient assessments
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient patient care
  • Maintain a sterile surgical environment and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards
  • Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs while ensuring proper instrumentation and supplies are available
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and facility standards

Requirements of the Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA):

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • CNOR certification
  • Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience
  • Successful completion of an RNFA program

This is a 3โ€“6 month contract position with the opportunity to convert to a permanent role. Apply if interested!
