Boone Memorial Health is seeking compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our healthcare team. As an RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, advocating for patients and their families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in an inpatient clinical setting. The RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This position plays a critical role in promoting and restoring patient health, educating patients and families, administering treatments and medications, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements. The RN also serves as a patient advocate, provides emotional support to patients and families, and contributes to a culture of excellence, teamwork, and quality patient care throughout Boone Memorial Health.
Essential Functions
As a Registered Nurse, you will:
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions using the electronic medical record system.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, ongoing care, and discharge planning.
  • Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities and supervise assigned personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and nursing committees.
  • Assist with orientation and support of new nursing staff.

Qualifications
Required
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Diploma Nursing Program, or higher from an accredited institution
  • Successful completion of the NCLEX-RN examination
  • Current West Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum of six (6) months of recent RN experience
  • BLS Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • ACLS Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
Preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform patient care activities requiring physical stamina and mobility
