We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Inpatient Nursing Unit. This role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while working alongside a collaborative healthcare team in a supportive healthcare environment.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (“RN”) – Inpatient Nursing Unit provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and continuity of care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, compassionate patient interaction, and adherence to professional nursing standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. The RN promotes patient safety, supports patients and families throughout the continuum of care, and contributes to a collaborative and professional healthcare environment.

Essential Functions
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with evidence-based practices and established clinical protocols
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Monitor patient conditions and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
  • Safely administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while ensuring safe and effective care delivery
  • Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in orientation, mentoring, and ongoing staff development activities
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Previous inpatient or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active West Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required within designated timeframe based on unit needs
Work Environment

This position is based in an inpatient healthcare setting with varying patient acuity levels and frequent interruptions. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations may be required.
