Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region. Since 1965, TMC has forged a special relationship with the people of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. Texoma residents have come to depend on TMC to meet a spectrum of physical, mental and spiritual needs. TMC has responded with unique services to provide the kind of sophisticated, experienced care that was once available only in major metropolitan areas. We offer major specialty services including open heart surgery and neurosurgery. Advanced resources such as certified trauma care support TMC's role as a regional specialty center.
The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Qualifications
Under the direct supervision of the surgeon, provides the surgical team with assistance within the Operating Room and other similar settings. Through this skill development, attains proficiency in assisting the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures that are beyond the scope of practice for registered nurses without RNFA education and training. Applies knowledge, skill and judgement necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient. Functions within the state laws regarding surgical assisting and state nursing practice act. The RNFA does not concurrently function as the Scrub Nurse.
Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:
  • Current Texas nursing license or compact license.
  • One year full time experience in an acute care setting.
  • RQI BLS and ACLS required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting. See additional department proficiency requirements above.
  • Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
  • Must be able to identify and competently address the needs of the populations served.
