Job Responsibilities: Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions using telemetry equipment, tracking heart rhythms and vital signs to detect any abnormalities or changes. Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosages and patient safety. Respond promptly to changes in patient status, initiating interventions such as administering medications, providing oxygen therapy, or notifying the physician. Perform regular patient assessments, documenting changes in condition, symptoms, and responses to treatments in electronic health records (EHR). Educate patients and their families on cardiac care, including post-discharge instructions, medication management, and lifestyle changes to support heart health. Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients. Assist in preparing patients for cardiac procedures, ensuring they understand the process and are ready for surgery or interventions. Maintain accurate documentation of telemetry monitoring, assessments, and interventions in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment when handling medical equipment and providing care. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and patient-centered care environment. Job Requirements: Current RN state license in good standing. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a telemetry or cardiac care setting. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required. Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
