Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Telemetry
Location
Columbia, SC
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry assignment within an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit at a leading regional teaching hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. This role focuses on providing specialized geriatric-focused care in a telemetry-capable acute care setting.
Shift Details
  • Night Shift - 3x12s
  • Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
Unit Details
  • 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Telemetry-capable unit caring for hospitalized patients age 65+
  • Focus on preserving cognitive and physical function to support recovery and return to baseline mobility
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry environment
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry readings
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products
  • Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs
  • Follow heparin protocols and telemetry care standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support geriatric patient outcomes
  • Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR
  • Float to qualified units or campuses based on facility needs
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of MS/Telemetry RN experience required
  • Active South Carolina RN License or Compact RN License required
  • BLS Certification required
  • ACLS Certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of Epic charting experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
Required Clinical Skills
  • MS/Telemetry nursing experience
  • IV starts and IV therapy management
  • Blood product administration

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
