Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job ID: 88902 Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional healthcare setting. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating treatment plans, responding to medical emergencies, and serving as a patient advocate for an adult population with a wide range of acute and chronic healthcare needs. The RN functions as a care manager and patient navigator, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and timely care.Schedule
  • Monday through Friday
  • Rotating AM/PM shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:30 PM
  • Self-scheduling model
  • Occasional weekends and holidays required
What you will be doing:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide skilled nursing care for patients with acute, chronic, complex, and long-term medical conditions.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, mental health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Manage patient follow-up appointments, chronic disease management, and treatment plans.
  • Serve as a patient care navigator, ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient's treatment.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
  • Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Educate patients on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with correctional healthcare policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a safe, secure, and professional healthcare environment while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.
What you must have:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Previous correctional, emergency, medical-surgical, long-term care, or acute care nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.
