Ambulatory Surgical Center Front Desk Coordinator
Location: Millburn, NJ
Entity: Team MD
Reports To: ASC Manager
We are seeking a friendly and professional Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, greeting them with a warm and welcoming attitude. This role involves answering phones, assisting with patient registration, and coordinating appointments and procedures. The successful candidate will have exceptional patient service skills, as they will represent the facility and create lasting first impressions. A strong understanding of healthcare practices, along with the ability to manage scheduling tasks efficiently and ensure smooth execution, is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
  • Greets patients and visitors
  • Registers patients for admission
  • Serves as telephone operator for facility; routes incoming calls correctly and takes accurate messages when unable to contact caller to requested party
  • Receives and distributes all mail and special deliveries
  • Notifies appropriate nursing staff that patient is present after patient has completed paperwork
  • Keeps track of the patient's family, patient's driver, etc.
  • Ensures that pharmaceutical/equipment representatives have appropriate badges and do not interfere with patient care or confidentiality
  • Prints out all labels, forms, etc., for patient charts and assembles charts before appointment
  • Calls appropriate agencies for assistance in case of emergency
  • Processes medical records request
  • Scans, files and organizes patient charts
  • Scheduling patients for surgical procedures
  • Runs insurance verification as needed
  • Performs other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed
  • Responsible for incoming mail, various office supplies and office equipment
Qualifications:
  • Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
  • Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public
