    Saturday & Sunday, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Role Overview:
    The Weekend Concierge serves as the welcoming presence at the hospital's main entrance and is often the first and last impression for our patients, families, and guests. As the FACE of Aurora on weekends, this role requires a warm, energetic, and outgoing individual who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Key Expectations:
    • Greet all patients and visitors with professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine hospitality.
    • Provide wayfinding assistance, helping guests navigate the facility with confidence.
    • Offer transportation support, which may include securing wheelchairs, assisting with mobility needs, or coordinating safe entry and exit from the building.
    • Demonstrate strong situational awareness and the ability to proactively identify when someone needs assistance.
    • Maintain a polished, approachable demeanor that reflects Aurora's commitment to compassionate care.
    • Act as a self-starter who takes initiative without needing frequent direction, especially during slower periods or fluctuating weekend traffic.

Pay Range
$18.85 - $28.30
Major Responsibilities:
  • Greets customers and assesses their immediate needs.
  • Successfully manages the first impression of the facility.
  • Offers assistance in any way necessary to include assist out of their vehicle, locate wheelchair, provide directions, escort to destination, etc.
  • Passes customer to volunteers for escorts when possible.
  • Utilizes Admitting or other departments to verify destination and remains with the patient if they are alone or in a wheelchair.
  • Assists in maintaining a smooth traffic flow at the entrances to the facility.
  • Assists in the arrangement of parking needs of customers, i.e., valet service, tour busses, short-term visitors, etc. Assists customers with transportation needs, i.e., taxi vouchers, bus passes, van transport, or other special needs.
  • Assures working area is clean of debris, safe, and free from obstacles.
  • Reports any Security/Safety issues to the Public Safety Services Department immediately.
  • Works with hospital support staff that may include, but is not limited to: Public Safety, Environmental Services, Plant Operations, Patient Transport and Grounds.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
  • None Required.

Education Required:
  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in service management as a concierge or greeter in a large public facility.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and work independent of direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work a flexible, customer-oriented schedule that meets the needs of Aurora guests and visitors.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or run throughout work area approximately 95% of the workday.
  • Ability to withstand exposure to weather elements 95% of the workday.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse population of customers.
  • Ability to tolerate minimal exposures of odors from auto emissions/gasoline.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
