Job Details:
The Patient Care Intern (PCI) assists patients with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care, which support nursing practice under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Intern carries out designated activities that are within those functions according to unlicensed nursing personnel. This includes assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to patients, and assisting the maintenance of safe and clean environment. The Patient Care Intern also promotes customer service by interacting and responding to patients, visitors, and staff in an appropriate and professional manner.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be currently enrolled in an accredited Associate or Baccalaureate Degree Nursing Program leading to a Registered Nurse degree. Would have completed successfully the minimum of the first nursing clinical course; (Anticipated Graduation for the Nursing Program July/Aug/Dec 2024 or May 2025) Core Nursing Courses must represent passing scores and progression in degree completion is expected to maintain the position. Must be currently certified in the Health Care Provider CPR. Candidate must be proficient and accountable in computer skills as it relates to accurate charting and data entry. Can demonstrate ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
If selected for this position:
  • Must have at least one semester of clinicals completed in a nursing home/long-term care setting.
  • If selected and accepted to the position must be available to attend the PCI and HR Orientation from 8:00AM-4:30PM with scheduling of clinical orientation hours to follow the additional weeks.
