Position Overview
The Patient Admission Lead will be responsible for managing the assessment team’s KPI achievement and completion of targeted outcomes as determined by organizational need. Additionally, this position has a primary responsibility to conduct weekly departmental meetings, session observations, documentation reviews and communicating KPI expectations. The Patient Admissions Lead will conduct assessment services to potential and current patients, utilize clinical expertise for diagnoses and treatment recommendations, and develop an initial treatment plan. The Patient Admissions Lead will collaborate with the Operations Manager for organizational efficiency and growth. Also, this position may involve administrative tasks when necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the patient admissions team to ensure efficient processing of admissions.
  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and eligibility prior to admission to minimize delays and denials.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments, billing, and insurance providers to resolve discrepancies and facilitate smooth admissions.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate admissions staff to maintain high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize admissions workflows and enhance patient experience.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and institutional policies related to patient admissions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for patients and families to address questions, concerns, and provide guidance throughout the admissions process.
  • Generate and analyze reports on admissions metrics to identify trends and areas for operational improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in patient admissions or healthcare administration.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare insurance processes, patient registration systems, and medical terminology.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
  • Certification in healthcare administration or patient access management (e.g., Certified Patient Access Manager).
