They work under supervision in hospitals or laboratories to learn how to examine tissues, cells, and bodily fluids to help diagnose diseases. This training is a critical step toward becoming a fully qualified pathologist and involves rotations in various areas such as anatomical pathology, clinical pathology, and laboratory medicine. Pathology trainees also participate in research, case discussions, and quality assurance activities as part of their education.
