What you will be responsible for:
Patent Management & Strategy:
  • Design & Implement IP Processes: Develop and continuously refine a streamlined patent application process-from invention identification, proposal evaluation, and filing to rights maintenance.
  • Incentive & Compliance Programs: Establish and standardize patent incentive mechanisms to motivate internal R&D teams, ensuring high-quality patent submissions while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
  • Global Patent Portfolio Management: Strategically plan and adjust the company's international patent landscape based on market dynamics and business objectives.
  • Licensing & Negotiations: Collaborate on patent licensing initiatives, cross-licensing agreements, and strategies related to standard-essential patents (SEP) to maximize commercial opportunities.
  • Risk Control & Infringement Prevention: Develop and implement risk mitigation protocols, including proactive infringement monitoring and early warning systems.
  • IP Culture & Training: Lead internal training sessions and drive the development of a robust intellectual property culture across the organization.

Technical Patent Innovation:
  • Invention Scouting: Engage closely with R&D teams to identify breakthrough innovations and translate these into strong, defensible patent applications.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage deep technical knowledge in areas such as HPC, AI, and server chip technologies to draft or supervise the drafting of high-value patent claims that secure core innovations.
  • Competitive Analysis: Monitor competitor patent portfolios and industry standards to assess risks, identify opportunities, and formulate defensive strategies.
  • Open Source & Standards Compliance: Integrate patent strategies with open source protocols (e.g., RISC-V) and industry standards to ensure robust protection of proprietary technologies.

IP Dispute Resolution & Risk Management
  • Lead the resolution of IP disputes, litigation, and enforcement actions, collaborating with external counsel when necessary.
  • Develop IP risk mitigation strategies, including handling patent assertion cases, trade secret protection, and licensing negotiations.
  • Support IP-related negotiations, settlements, and licensing discussions with third parties.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in patent engineering, IP management, or related roles within technology-driven organizations or reputable IP agencies.
  • Familiarity with US patent laws, regulations, and procedures, preferably with experience in US patent prosecution or intellectual property management.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing patent management systems (e.g., proposal review processes, incentive programs, patent pool management, international patent portfolio management).
  • Technical expertise in the technology areas of Semiconductor, Microelectronics, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science, with a demonstrated understanding of complex engineering principles and concepts.
  • Experience in IP litigation, dispute resolution, and negotiations.
