Education: Master's (or Equivalent) Required
Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (occasional evenings required)

The Journey is an established 20-year-old church plant in New York City (Manhattan) that currently meets in Times Square. The Journey has baptized 3,800+ people from across New York City.

About the Role:
We’re looking for an “A” player to fill the role of Growth Groups Pastor & Teaching Pastor at The Journey Church NYC.
This position would oversee our vibrant semester-based Growth Groups system and would serve as a teacher and contributor on our teaching team. This position would also provide leadership to other ministry areas depending on gifts / experience / abilities of the candidate.
We are looking for an experienced, energetic leader who is ready to live in NYC, work hard, grow as a pastor and leader in this important role on our staff and make a tremendous difference for Jesus Christ in one of the most important cities in the world!
This role is ideal for someone with the gift of leadership, growing teams and communication – and who wants to develop as a minister and grow with the church. This is an Executive Pastor position on our team and this person would serve on our Executive Team. The position is available immediately.
Must be willing to relocate to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or nearby (within 30 min commute by public transportation). Highly competitive salary. Details and benefits will be discussed after resume and cover letter are received.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Leadership, growth and innovation of The Journey’s semester-based small groups ministry (goal of getting 100% of our church in groups).
Recruiting new Growth Group Leaders and forming new groups each semester so 100% of our church can be in a Growth Groups.
Possible leadership of other ministry areas depending on experience / giftedness / abilities of the candidate.
Requires the ability to lead teams effectively and to raise up new leaders rapidly. Also, organizational and administrative skills are a must.
The ability to contribute to The Journey's teaching team as well as the ability to work well with staff.
Must be extremely hard-working and have had leadership experience on a large or growing church staff.
Other desired characteristics include strong interpersonal skills; growing leader; team builder; sense of humor; risk-taker.
