Job description

King Steel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Safety Coordinator to support and enhance our company-wide safety culture. This onsite position will work closely with Human Resources, Quality, and department leadership to coordinate safety initiatives, maintain compliance procedures, support employee engagement, and promote a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, hands-on manufacturing safety experience, and a strong understanding of 5S safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Lead and promote compliance with company safety policies and 5S safety protocols throughout all departments.

Work closely with Human Resources on employee safety initiatives, safety documentation, workplace investigations, onboarding, and training coordination.

Assist with new-hire safety orientation and onboarding training to ensure employees understand company safety expectations, procedures, and policies.

Collaborate with HR and Quality teams to support compliance efforts, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct incident reporting and investigations involving near misses, property damage, workplace injuries, safety concerns, and corrective actions.

Prepare, organize, and present monthly safety meetings and company-wide safety communications.

Coordinate and conduct annual safety training for all employees, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

Order, track, and maintain inventory of safety supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Develop and introduce strategic safety initiatives focused on continuous improvement and risk reduction.

Perform routine safety audits, inspections, and observations to identify and correct workplace hazards.

Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and training documentation.

Assist with OSHA-related compliance and safety program administration as needed.


Requirements

Previous experience in workplace safety coordination, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge and practical experience with 5S safety protocols (required).

Experience conducting incident investigations and safety reporting.

Ability to confidently present training sessions and safety meetings to employees.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting/documentation systems.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments, especially Human Resources.

5+ Years of experience in a similar role
