Job description

Title: Religious Education and Youth Ministry, Part-time (20 hrs./wk.)

Reports To:Pastor

Location:St. Bernard Parish | Holmes Beach FL

Classification:Hourly/Nonexempt

Overview:

St Bernard Parish is seeking a part-time Religious Education and Youth Ministry with secretarial/clerical services to the Religious Education Department.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer, screen and route incoming calls promptly, accurately and courteously. Provide answers to caller questions and assistance when appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain up-to-date filing systems, both hard copy and electronic.
  • Input registrations to Parish Soft for Religious Education, OCIA and sacramental programs and youth ministries.
  • Coordinate, volunteers, events, and student records while fostering engagement within the parish community.
  • Work with diocesan education department to coordinate.
  • Coordinated all parish faith formation and sacramental preparation programs for children, youth, and adults.
  • Oversee religious education programs, including First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and adult faith formation.
  • Order supplies as needed for all special activities.
  • Produce sacramental certificates and post records to sacramental books.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a position with similar duties and responsibilities.
  • Previous church employment/experience extremely helpful.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience working in Parishsoft.
