If so, The Pfister is looking for a Part Time Front Desk Agent to be a part of our team and continue its iconic legacy. As a Front Desk Agent you will greet our guests and welcome them to return for future stays, while providing them with prompt and courteous service. The way our guests are treated, largely impacts their experience here; so, if you are a person with a smile on your face, this position is great for you!

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 46 consecutive years. The hotel is one of only 11 properties throughout North America to maintain the AAA Four Diamond designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976.

What you will be doing:

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel.
  • Check guests in and out of rooms.
  • Input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs.
  • Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management.
  • Promptly answer the phone in a professional and clear manner.
  • Maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent customer service skills and communication are required.
  • Previous hotel, receptionist, customer service, front desk or administrative experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
