Job description

The Maintenance Material Coordinator (MMC) is primarily responsible for inventory management, maintenance planning, purchasing and related D365 management. The MMC will work closely with plant leaders and front-line associates to ensure consistent inventory management practices while also ensuring the site has appropriate inventory levels for maintenance projects and day to day operations. Will serve as the primary resource for plant MRO parts purchasing and spare parts inventory management.

This position will support both our Bull Run and Fairfax locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

55% Receive requests from plant associates for parts and services. Performs research and analysis to correctly identify parts when necessary. Generate purchase orders for plant parts, supplies and vendor services to ensure proper allocation of cost to a work order, capital project or expense account. Communicate physical receipt of all non-inventory items to requestor of the items in a timely manner. Physically receive and place all inventory items in designated locations as well as record transaction in the financial system at time of receipt. Perform periodic cycle counts and a complete year end count of inventory.

30% Establishes and maintains MRO parts inventory levels by continually evaluating demand, criticality and lead times. Maintains stocking levels of MRO parts through reorder points, cycle counts, and system generated orders. Issue all inventoried parts out of stock and record transactions in our financial system at their time of use. Work closely w/ EOS procurement and plant management to lower plant MRO inventories and lower costs by improved purchasing practices and identifying obsolete MRO parts for return to vendor, transfer to another LS plant or write-off and disposal. Assists plant management in performing detailed analysis of monthly expenses.

10% Partner with finance to ensure invoices are processed in accordance with vendor terms. Partners with plant leadership to source parts and services from designated business partners and other suppliers with the goal of obtaining the highest value for the business.

5% of the job -Assist in keeping plant warehouses and storage areas in a clean and orderly state.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

ย Education: Work Experience:

  • 2- 3 years' experience in aggregates processing or MRO purchasing /warehouse management preferred
  • Ability to operate small mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid steer loaders and backhoes
  • Knowledge of equipment, purchasing, and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and schedule essential functions without direct supervision.
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, internet search) Familiarity with inventory management, shipping/receiving software is a plus
  • Ability to travel between Bull Run and Fairfax plants
