Summary/Objective
The Metal Inspector verifies the quality of parts by visual inspection and dimensional verification to documented criteria, removes parts from the sheet, and packages parts for shipment.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Read and follow instructions on a traveler and other company documentation to complete required tasks.
  • Correctly fill out company documentation to accurately record manufacturing lot information, measurements, etc.
  • Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques to correctly process parts.
  • Inspect parts using a microscope to determine conformance with company and customer inspection criteria.
  • Remove parts from a sheet using scissors, clippers depending on the part.
  • Use drop gauges and hand held micrometers to measure material thickness.
  • Identify and make recommendations for inspection improvement opportunities to help lower part costs and make parts quicker to process through the inspection department and the plant.
  • Perform process to complete solder assemblies, using fixtures, ring light, solder and soldering unit.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and Full-time Second Shift Monday through Thursday 2:00pm - 12:30am. Occasional overtime as deemed by management and production needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
