The Development Manager is responsible for leading and executing fund development strategies with a primary focus on grant writing, donor cultivation, and sustainable revenue growth. This role plays a key part in advancing the mission of the Weiser Memorial Hospital Foundation by securing financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations to enhance healthcare services and community well-being. This position is primarily remote and community-facing, with flexibility to work offsite while maintaining a regular presence in the community and attending in-office meetings or activities 1–2 days per week as needed.

Responsibilities:


Fund Development Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan aligned with organizational goals
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, prospects, and community partners
  • Lead major gift initiatives, annual campaigns, and special fundraising events
  • Track and analyze fundraising performance metrics to guide strategy

Grant Writing & Management

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
  • Write, submit, and manage high-quality grant proposals and applications
  • Maintain a grants calendar to ensure timely submissions and reporting
  • Prepare accurate and compelling grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with grant funders
Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in fundraising
  • Proven track record of securing grants and grant writing
  • Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals
