Job Description

At Wings Credit Union, partnerships are more than sponsorships and events. They're opportunities to strengthen communities, create memorable experiences, elevate our brand, and build meaningful relationships.

As Director, Partnership Success, you'll lead and evolve Wings' partnership portfolio across sports, community organizations, entertainment, education, and member experiences. You'll work across the organization to bring sponsorships, activations, events, and community partnerships to life while creating value for members, employees, partners, and the communities we serve.

This role sits at the intersection of partnership strategy, relationship management, activation, community impact, and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll lead a team of sponsorship and events professionals while collaborating closely with leaders across Business Development, Commercial Banking, Marketing, Public Relations, Retail, Philanthropy, Legal, Human Resources, Product, Lending, and Internal Communications.

What You'll Do

Lead Strategic Partnerships

  • Recommend and execute Wings' sponsorship and partnership strategy.
  • Identify, cultivate, and strengthen relationships with sponsors, community organizations, sports partners, and talent.
  • Create mutually beneficial partnerships that support business, marketing, community, and philanthropic goals.
  • Represent Wings while building trusted relationships internally and externally.

Create Memorable Experiences

  • Lead sponsorship activations, community-facing events, and grand openings.
  • Design and execute partnership experiences that strengthen member engagement and enhance brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure activations are thoughtfully planned and flawlessly delivered.
  • Help identify new opportunities that create value for members, employees, and community partners.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Manage partnership activation plans, budgets, contracts, timelines, and reporting.
  • Track performance metrics and partnership outcomes to inform future recommendations and investment decisions.
  • Deliver strategic insights and data-driven recommendations that maximize partnership impact and return on investment.
  • Ensure successful fulfillment of contractual obligations and organizational commitments.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a team of sponsorship and events professionals.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Align team efforts with organizational priorities and long-term goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Office Administration or similar field of study Required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Office Administration or similar field of study Preferred
  • 8+ Years' experience leading and/or managing sponsorships, brand partnerships, sports marketing, or similar areas with an emphasis on strong collaboration to drive corporate and marketing goals Required
  • 3+ years' management experience Required

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strategic Planning: Proven ability to develop and implement sponsorship, partnership, and engagement strategies that align with organizational goals and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated expertise in negotiating complex contracts, sponsorship and partnership agreements, finding mutual positive outcomes, and balancing organizational objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Relationship Management: Proven success building and maintaining strong relationships with executive leaders, sponsors, community organizations, spokespeople/talent, and external partners.
  • Project Management: Ability to lead and manage multiple large-scale projects, events, activations, and grand openings concurrently while meeting timelines, budgets, and performance expectations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, assess performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations to enhance partnership and sponsorship effectiveness.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Sponsorship Acquisition: Demonstrated experience identifying, securing, activating, and managing sponsorships and strategic partnerships and talent that support brand, business, and community objectives.
  • Market Research: Ability to evaluate market trends, competitive landscapes, consumer insights, and partnership opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Management: Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting expenses, evaluating return on investment, and ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to oversee, build and implement systems and processes that meet compliance, legal, and operational expectations.

Certifications Required:

  • Valid Colorado or Minnesota driver's license Required
Additional Information

PAY RANGE: $124,000 to $144,000 Annually (S18) with a 15% annual target bonus
Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, location and internal pay equity.
