Safety Manager | Indianapolis, IN
At HazTek, safety isn't just a priority-it's a core value. As a Safety Manager in Indianapolis, IN. you'll play a critical leadership role in shaping and reinforcing a culture where every worker is empowered, protected, and expected to go home safe each day.
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead safety efforts across our commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about driving compliance, influencing behavior, and elevating safety performance.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead all on-site safety initiatives, ensuring full compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards
  • Champion a proactive safety culture through daily engagement, coaching, and visible leadership
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, site audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate risk
  • Investigate incidents, complete detailed reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Partner with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to ensure alignment on safety expectations
  • Oversee high-risk activities including fall protection, scaffolding, steel erection, and excavation operations
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce accountability to safety protocols

What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience managing safety on commercial construction projects
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
  • Confident presenter who can lead trainings and engage both field teams and senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate incidents and drive meaningful corrective actions
  • Experience overseeing high-risk scopes such as fall protection, scaffolding, steel erection, and excavation

Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years direct construction safety experience required
  • Degree in a safety related field preferred
  • OSHA 510 and or 500 a plus
  • CHST or CSP preferred
  • Advance knowledge of construction safety standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
