We are seeking a Senior Treatment Plant Operation Management Professional who is passionate about wastewater treatment and optimizing plant performance and advancing the future of water.

Your Opportunity

You will play a key role in process design optimization, startup and commissioning, plant optimization, piloting efforts, and short-term operations leadership. You will serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with project teams and plant staff to deliver high-quality results. In addition, you will support business development by partnering with local leads to visit plant sites, engage with staff, and identify new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process design optimization and provide technical expertise for wastewater treatment projects.
  • Support startup and commissioning activities, ensuring smooth transitions from construction to operation.
  • Drive plant optimization and piloting efforts to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Serve as a short-term operations lead, guiding teams and supporting plant operations as needed.
  • Collaborate with local leads to visit plant sites, meet with plant staff, and identify business development opportunities.
  • Evaluate plant operational data to evaluate treatment performance to assist in troubleshooting performance challenges or optimizing plant operations and SCADA control.
  • Identify recommended sampling and analysis to maintain compliance and performance.
  • Inspect equipment, coordinate maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable operations.
  • Maintain accurate records / documentation and contribute to internal and client reporting.
  • Provide mentorship and foster positive relationships with team members, plant staff, and clients.
  • Provide early and conceptual planning and design input for process and operations considerations.
  • Provide input into operations and maintenance complexity and levels of staffing for various opportunities and design efforts.
  • Lead or support development of standard operating procedures and operations and maintenance manuals for treatment facilities.
  • Coordinate and provide condition assessment for various levels of planning or asset management efforts.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in treatment plant operations, with increasing responsibility and diversity of experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of process optimization, startup, commissioning, and plant operations.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and laboratory analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel to plant sites throughout the region.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license.
  • Relevant certifications in water or wastewater treatment operations preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are an asset.
  • Experience with demonstration trials for new and innovative technologies.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary

Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
