Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Development Manager with a strong background in real estate development and project management. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

The Development Manager will oversee large-scale projects from inception to completion, leading consultants, contractors, and internal teams to achieve financial and operational goals. This role is central to advancing company growth while ensuring excellence in design, execution, and performance

What Will You do?

  • Oversee multiple large-scale real estate development projects, managing both external consultants and internal staff.
  • Lead consultant teams in coordinating building permits and development plans.
  • Manage full project lifecycles from concept to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, market research, and financial analyses to evaluate project viability.
  • Negotiate agreements, entitlements, and development plan approvals with local authorities.
  • Direct permitting and regulatory approval processes.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and quality standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, ensuring compliance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Partner with property management and marketing teams to support sales and leasing strategies throughout development.
  • Stay current on land acquisition markets, local regulations, and market pricing trends.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and neighbors.
  • Prepare and present proposals, budgets, and progress reports to senior leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

What You Bring:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate Finance, Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in real estate development and project management.
  • Proven track record in the acquisition, entitlement, development, and marketing of residential and mixed-use projects.
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors, and large-scale multi-family or mixed-use developments.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of real estate finance, entitlements, zoning regulations, and the planning/engineering approval process.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate consultant drawings (architectural, landscape, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cash flows, and financial analysis for real estate projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green building certifications is an asset.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:

$130k + Performance based bonus
