MSE Environmental is expanding into the Houston market and is looking for a driven, relationship-focused team member to help build the market from the ground up.
This role is ideal for someone who can combine business development, field operations support, client communication, and hands-on environmental service learning. The right person will be comfortable meeting new people, opening doors, learning technical services, supporting field work, and helping MSE Environmental grow quickly and professionally in Houston.
Position Summary
The Houston Business Development & Field Operations Associate will help MSE Environmental build relationships with referral partners, support environmental field operations, assist with job coordination, and work toward required Texas environmental licenses.
This is a growth role with the potential to develop into a larger Houston leadership position based on performance, licensing progress, professionalism, and market results.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Build relationships with Houston-area referral partners and potential clients, including:
  • Restoration contractors
  • Property managers
  • General contractors
  • Facility managers
  • Realtors and real estate brokers
  • Insurance contacts
  • Commercial property owners
  • Other approved referral sources

Responsibilities include:
  • Making calls, visits, introductions, and follow-ups
  • Tracking outreach and relationship activity
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Helping create new business opportunities
  • Representing MSE Environmental professionally in the Houston market
  • Building referral relationships that can turn into repeat work

Field Operations Support
Support and learn MSE Environmental's field operations, including:
  • Mold inspections and assessments
  • Mold protocols
  • Asbestos inspections and surveys
  • Residential asbestos clearances
  • Commercial asbestos surveys
  • Lead-related inspections
  • Site photos and field notes
  • Chain-of-custody paperwork
  • Lab coordination
  • Client communication
  • Report support
  • Subcontractor coordination

First 90-Day Expectations
During the first 90 days, the employee will be expected to:
  • Connect with at least 300 qualified Houston-area contacts
  • Work toward a stretch goal of 450 qualified contacts
  • Build referral relationships with property managers, general contractors, restoration contractors, facility managers, and selected realtors
  • Track all outreach, meetings, follow-ups, and next steps in the company's approved system
  • Learn MSE Environmental's field procedures and service workflows
  • Make documented progress toward required Texas licenses
  • Help identify or recruit local licensed support for asbestos, mold assessment, and lead inspection work

A qualified connection means a real business-development contact with a decision-maker or referral source, such as a phone conversation, in-person visit, scheduled meeting, meaningful email/text exchange, referral partner introduction, or documented follow-up.
Licensing Requirements
The employee will be required to pursue and obtain:
  • Texas Asbestos Inspector License
  • Texas Lead Inspector License

MSE Environmental may provide approved training and licensing support. Until properly licensed and approved, the employee may not independently perform regulated asbestos or lead work requiring certification or licensing.
Compensation and Benefits
This position includes:
  • $500/month auto allowance
  • Company fuel card up to $500/month for approved business fuel
  • Benefits contribution up to 75% of eligible employee coverage for Medical 99% of Vision and Dental. 100% Paid Life Insurance Policy
  • Paid time off according to company policy
  • Approved training and licensing support
  • Company-provided cell phone, computer, sampling equipment, sampling media, PPE, logo clothing, and marketing materials as needed for approved company work

Required Qualifications
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Willingness to conduct in-person business development and follow-up
  • Ability to learn environmental services, field procedures, and compliance workflows
  • Organized and able to track contacts, follow-ups, job notes, and next steps
  • Professional appearance and communication with clients, referral partners, and subcontractors
  • Ability to work independently while staying accountable to leadership
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle for business use
  • Willingness to complete background check and drug test
  • Willingness to pursue required Texas environmental licenses

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in restoration, construction, real estate, property management, insurance, environmental services, or field operations
  • Existing relationships in the Houston market
  • Experience with mold, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, or environmental consulting
  • Sales, referral development, or account management experience
  • Ability to communicate professionally with contractors, property managers, and real estate professionals
