Job description

Senior Business Development Manager
Thompson Solutions Group (TSG) is hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to help drive growth in the Omaha market. This role is a great fit for someone who is relationship-driven, well-connected in the local construction community, and excited to play a key role in shaping the future of integrated, multi-trade project delivery.
In this senior leadership position, you'll be focused on winning new work, building long-term partnerships, and positioning TSG as a trusted partner for complex construction projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and mixed-use markets.
TSG is also proud to offer an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving eligible employees the opportunity to share in the company's long term success and growth.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll help expand TSG's presence in the Omaha market by building strong relationships and identifying opportunities that support long-term growth. You'll be responsible for:
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities aligned with TSG's integrated services
  • Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of strategic pursuits
  • Leveraging existing relationships while developing new ones with owners, contractors, architects, engineers, developers, and economic development partners
  • Representing TSG within the Omaha construction community through industry and civic organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, NAIOP Nebraska, AGC, and related groups
  • Positioning TSG as a go-to partner for advanced and technology-integrated construction solutions
  • Collaborating closely with internal construction, service, and leadership teams to develop customized multi-trade solutions
  • Leading pursuit strategies, contributing to proposals, and clearly communicating TSG's value across business units
  • Supporting company leadership with strategic planning and growth initiatives
  • Partnering with marketing to promote regional project success and strengthen brand visibility
  • Ensuring smooth handoff from business development to project execution to support long-term client relationships

What We're Looking For
We're open to candidates with a variety of backgrounds and value strong relationships, industry knowledge, and mindset just as much as formal credentials. Ideal candidates will have many of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Senior-level business development experience within construction or integrated contracting services
  • Strong connections and credibility within the Omaha AEC and development community
  • Understanding of multi-trade construction services such as electrical, limited energy, technology integration, and MEP
  • Experience with delivery models like design-build, design-assist, or integrated project delivery
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to manage complex pursuits and client needs
  • Experience using CRM tools and business development systems
  • Involvement or leadership in local industry or civic organizations
  • Working knowledge of project delivery, estimating, and coordination challenges
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally for meetings and client engagement

Why Join Thompson Solutions Group?
At TSG, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing market while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple trades. We value collaboration, long-term relationships, and leaders who want to build something lasting.
If you're motivated by growth, relationships, and delivering smart solutions for complex projects, we'd love to connect.
