Everts Air Cargo is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Maintenance (ADOM) in Fairbanks Alaska; to help lead our Part 121 maintenance organization. Working directly with the Director of Maintenance, you will help oversee the fleet airworthiness, regulatory compliance, maintenance operations, and operational reliability across a diverse fleet operating in one of the most challenging and rewarding aviation environments in the world.
Everts Air Cargo is owned and operated by Robert Everts, a lifelong Alaskan and second-generation Alaskan aviator. He purchased Tatonduk Outfitters Limited in 1993 and operated a Part 135 operation serving interior Alaska. In 1994 he introduced larger aircraft and in 1995 launched his Part 121 supplemental all-cargo service. We're a major aviation provider headquartered in Fairbanks with a line station in Anchorage and satellite base in Laredo. We operate scheduled cargo and charter flights as well as On Demand Charters across North, Central and South America, including the Caribbean. We operate Passenger and Charter flights within Alaska under our Part 135 certificate as well. Our sustained growth and diversification have grown our airline from 3 individuals to 350 and we're looking for the next perfect fit as we recruit for an Assistant Director of Maintenance. Role Summary:
The Assistant Director of Maintenance (ADOM) supports the Director of Maintenance in ensuring the continuous airworthiness of aircraft, engines, appliances, and component parts operated under the Company's FAA-approved Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) and applicable requirements of 14 CFR Parts 119 and 121.
The ADOM provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of maintenance operations, maintenance control, planning, training, materials, and contract maintenance activities. This position ensures maintenance is accomplished in accordance with FAA regulations, company manuals, approved maintenance programs, and established safety and quality standards while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient flight operations.
Compensation $150k p/yr
Schedule Standard hours are 8:00AM - 5:00 PM to support departmental communication; however, longer hours, early mornings, evenings, and weekends may be required based on operational needs.

Essential Functions:
  1. Assist the Director of Maintenance in directing and overseeing Maintenance Control, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Training, Base and Line Maintenance, Materials, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and contract maintenance activities.
  2. Ensure maintenance activities are performed in accordance with FAA regulations, Operations Specifications, the General Maintenance Manual (GMM), approved maintenance programs, manufacturer instructions, and company policies.
  3. Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance events, including line, heavy, overhaul, repair, and contract maintenance activities to maximize aircraft availability and operational reliability.
  4. Coordinate daily with the Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Operations Control, Flight Following, Cargo Services, and other operational departments regarding aircraft status, maintenance projections, and schedule impacts.
  5. Oversee maintenance workforce utilization, staffing levels, shift coverage, and turnover processes to ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations.
  6. Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel. Participate in recruiting, training, retention, corrective action, and performance management processes.
  7. Ensure maintenance personnel are trained and qualified in accordance with FAA regulations and company-approved maintenance training programs.
  8. Foster a safety-focused culture that promotes regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, professionalism, and accountability.
  9. Support FAA surveillance activities, internal audits, Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives, and Safety Assurance System (SAS) oversight activities. Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions when required.
  10. Maintain oversight of the Materials Department to ensure inventory control, parts traceability, regulatory compliance, and timely support of maintenance and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements.
  11. Serve as a liaison with the FAA, manufacturers, repair stations, vendors, and other external stakeholders as delegated by the Director of Maintenance.
  12. Participate in aircraft maintenance forecasting and strategic planning to support fleet reliability, regulatory compliance, and operational objectives.
  13. Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of maintenance manuals, policies, procedures, and associated documentation.
  14. Assist the Director of Maintenance in administering the Company's FAA-approved maintenance program in accordance with 14 CFR Parts 119 and 121.
  15. Ensure maintenance records, personnel qualifications, and maintenance activities comply with applicable FAA regulations and company procedures.
  16. Maintain familiarity with current FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, service information, and company-approved manuals and specifications.
  17. Support compliance with the Company's Safety Management System (SMS), Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS), and quality assurance programs.

Qualifications:
  1. Airframe & Powerplant Certificate is required.
  2. Valid Driver's License is required.
  3. Valid and unexpired Passport is required.
  4. Must be able to pass an Airport Background Criminal History Check.
  5. Must be able to pass a Drug Test and Airport Background criminal history check.
  6. Must be able to work effectively in a drug-free workplace and comply with company drug and alcohol policies.
  7. Must meet the qualifications requirements of 14 CFR ยง 119.65(a)(4), 119.67(c), and 121.369(a).
  8. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience maintaining large aircraft operated under Part 121 or equivalent maintenance programs.
  9. Previous supervisory or management experience in aircraft maintenance operations is required.
  10. Five (5) or more years of maintenance leadership experience in a Part 121 environment is preferred.
  11. Must have a demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations, Operations Specifications, maintenance programs, technical publications, and air carrier maintenance systems.
  12. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
  13. Must be able to work extended hours and travel as operationally required to support activities at other Everts locations and participate in industry-related events and activities.
  14. Bachelor's degree in aviation maintenance, Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  15. Experience with CAMP, CASS, SMS, FAA SAS oversight, and maintenance program administration is preferred.
  16. Proficient in computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is preferred.
