Job description

Bon Secours Wellness Arena is looking for enthusiastic and skilled part-time Sound Operators for live events. The Sound Operator will be responsible for managing and operating sound equipment to ensure high-quality audio experiences during various events.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate sound equipment for live events, including microphones, PA systems
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director and event organizers to understand sound requirements and objectives
  • Monitors audio levels throughout event to ensure optimal sound quality
  • Perform sound checks and calibrate audio equipment prior to events
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any audio issues that arise during events
  • Tie-in event FOH or DJ to our audio console and monitor levels throughout the events.
  • Tweak mic EQs, build monitor mixes, and ring out speakers to optimize audio quality and prevent feedback.
  • Maintain and manage sound equipment, including regular inspections and repairs
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in live sound operation.
  • Proficiency in using audio mixing and editing equipment
  • Strong understanding of sound technology, including microphones, amplifiers, and recording equipment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced with Dante networking, Shure Wireless Workbench, and Clearcom systems including HelixNet and FreeSpeak.
  • Experience working in an arena or theater environment
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to audio production
