Position: Part-Time Transportation Driver

  • Weekdays - hours are flexible, needs open availability

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews appointments with the transportation coordinator each week/morning to determine schedule.
  • Prepares residents to leave the facility: ensures personal cleanliness, weather appropriate clothing etc.
  • Gathers proper paperwork and documentation needed for the appointment prior to leaving the facility.
  • Accompanies residents to appointments, lifts residents into and out of transport van via wheel chair lift in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Receives, understands, and conveys to the Nursing Staff verbal instructions and explanations from the hospital, doctor, laboratory or other sources.
  • Responsible for the care and well-being of all residents.
  • Communicates actively with the Transportation Coordinator or other persons any resident or transportation concerns.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for resident rights by maintaining strict confidentiality of resident information, responding to their right for information, acting as a resident advocate, and provides for their privacy.

Qualifications:

  • Be able to read and follow written directions
  • Be able to communicate with residents and co-workers in a friendly manner
  • Must be able to tactfully work with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and personnel in the general public.
  • Hold a current, valid drivers license
  • Possess less than 15 points on their Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
  • Driving Record: Clean driving record
  • Have the physical ability to lift and transfer residents into and out of the transportation van via wheel chair lift
  • Be able to receive, understand and pass on to nurses detailed instructions relating to the resident that were received by the hospitals, physicians, nurses, dentists etc.
