Job description

Job Title: Psychiatrist – Part-Time / Region 3
Location: Chillicothe, OH 45601
Shift: Day
Hours/Week: 16 (approx. 2 days/week; additional hours may be available for telehealth or coverage at nearby facilities)
Duration: Minimum 6 months, potential extension or permanent placement based on mutual fit
Education: Doctoral Degree
Position Overview:
We are seeking a board-certified psychiatrist to provide part-time on-site services to an adult male population. Full-time candidates will also be considered, with additional hours potentially used for telehealth services or coverage at nearby correctional facilities. The position is weekdays only, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Start and end times are flexible based on facility needs.
The selected psychiatrist will see approximately 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift, with a caseload of 75–100 patients. Both a phone interview and an on-site meeting/tour are required prior to selection.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Collaborate with intra- and interdepartmental staff to provide behavioral health treatment following nationally recognized standards.
•    Conduct psychiatric evaluations, exams, and write detailed reports.
•    Order and interpret diagnostic tests and manage patient medications appropriately.
•    Make referrals for specialized care as indicated.
•    Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice, institutional policies, procedures, protocols, and applicable professional standards.
•    Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including peer reviews.
•    Engage in collaborative agreements and interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
•    Active, unrestricted Ohio Medical License.
•    Board certification in Psychiatry.
•    DEA certification.
•    Doctoral degree in medicine (MD or DO).
•    Healthcare-professional level CPR certification.

Preferred:
Experience in correctional, forensic, or behavioral health settings.
