What is a part time weekday?

A Part Time Weekday job is a position where an employee works fewer hours than a full-time schedule, typically during weekdays (Monday to Friday). These jobs often offer flexible hours and are common in industries like retail, customer service, administration, and education. They are ideal for individuals looking to balance work with personal commitments, such as students, parents, or retirees. Hours and schedules vary by employer, so it's important to check specific job postings for details.

What is a typical work schedule like for a part time weekday position?

Part Time Weekday positions usually involve working set hours during the weekdays, often ranging from morning to early evening shifts depending on the employer's needs. The exact days and hours can vary, but schedules tend to provide consistency, allowing you to plan your other commitments around your work hours. Many employers offer flexibility within these roles, which can be ideal for students, parents, or those seeking supplemental income. You'll typically be given your schedule in advance and may have opportunities to swap shifts or pick up extra hours if desired. This structure offers work-life balance while still providing regular employment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the part time weekday position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Part Time Weekday position, reliability, time management, and a strong work ethic are essential, along with any specific experience or qualifications required by the job function (e.g., customer service, data entry, or retail assistance). Familiarity with job-specific tools such as point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, or computer applications may be important depending on the industry. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team help individuals excel in this role. These skills ensure that part-time weekday employees can efficiently perform their duties, offer flexibility to employers, and maintain a positive work environment.

Schedule: Part Time (Weekdays)

Compensation: $700-$800 per diem

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

About The Opportunity

Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist to provide care in a structured, outpatient clinic-based environment in Columbus, OH.

This is a clinic-based role where you'll function as an extension of the clinical team within a coordinated, community-focused setting serving senior populations.

If you're looking for meaningful, mission-driven work with schedule consistency — without the overhead and administrative burden of running your own practice — this opportunity offers flexibility and professional support.

The Setting

This opportunity operates within a community-based outpatient clinic model.

• Clinic staff are on-site full time
• Organized scheduling and patient flow
• Coordinated, team-based care environment
• Value-based model focused on seniors

We manage equipment, supplies, scheduling, and billing logistics — allowing you to focus entirely on delivering high-quality patient care.

What You'll Do

• Perform comprehensive eye exams including visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health assessments
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions in aging populations
• Prescribe corrective lenses and coordinate care for advanced ophthalmologic needs when appropriate
• Collaborate with clinic staff as part of an integrated care team
• Deliver patient-centered care in a structured outpatient setting

What Makes This Different

This is not a high-volume rotating model.

Our optometrists are integrated into established clinic environments and represent Comprehensive Mobile Care directly within each partner location.

We emphasize:

• Quality over volume
• Consistency and predictability
• Administrative and logistical support
• Long-term clinic partnerships
• Ethical, mission-driven healthcare delivery

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
• Active Ohio optometry license
• Experience treating senior populations preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and patient care skills
• Comfortable practicing in outpatient clinic environments

Schedule

• Part Time
• Typical hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• No nights
• No weekends
• No billing or administrative responsibilities

Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) is a family-founded healthcare organization with over 25 years of experience increasing access to care for senior and underserved communities across 20+ states.
