Shifts - Every other weekend and at least one evening until 9 pm (shifts may vary)

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for candidates to join our CREATE Employment Services team as Direct Support Professionals. The Direct Support Professional (DS) in this program is responsible for providing employment-related support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Providing individualized on-the-job instruction and mentorship to individuals working in the community.
  • Supervising 2-3 person teams fulfilling contracted service requirements for local businesses.
  • Consulting with employers to identify training needs to improve the individual's performance.
  • Assist individuals with job searches and engage with employers to secure opportunities for potential job placement.
  • Participate in multi-agency team meetings to evaluate, assess, and recommend accommodations for the individual to attain/retain employment.
  • Maintaining flexibility and composure while working alone or in a team environment
  • Completing the competency-based modules as dictated by the North Dakota Department of Human Service, Developmental Disabilities Division.
Other duties not listed above may be assigned.
Required:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Current Driver's License
  • Use of personal vehicle - mileage reimbursement provided
Preferred: Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, mental health or other related field.
