Department: College of Nursing

Reports To: Nursing Program Director

Travel: 3-4 times per year

LOCATION: Primarily located at the Green Bay campus, with occasional support at regional sites.

STANDARD HOURS: M-F, 16-24 hours per week. Hours may be scheduled between early morning and evening based on clinical and lab needs, with flexible shift lengths. Availability for up to two Saturdays per semester required.

PAY RANGE: $23.33-$25.14 per hour

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role will support and assist faculty and students in the delivery of simulations in the NWTC Health Sciences programs. Simulation includes the operation and support of simulation-based education, virtual reality experiences, and clinical skills laboratory learning environments. Technicians will operate simulation training equipment as assigned; manage the inventory, organization, and setup of the simulation lab; and ensure all equipment used in simulation training is cleaned, maintained, and repaired.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide support to Green Bay, Sturgeon Bay, and Shawano Campuses.
  • Maintain simulation and virtual reality lab, including cleanliness, safety, daily set-ups, proper usage, and full functionality of simulation equipment.
  • Participate in all aspects of simulation including operation of simulators, appropriate utilization of standardized patients, playing the voice/role of standardized patient, and/or playing role of a patient.
  • Provides the initial set-up and operates simulation lab equipment necessary during simulation training sessions.
  • Provides the initial supplies and calibration of the low-fidelity simulators to support theory classroom use.
  • Annually update scenarios on simulators, ensuring all details such as name bands, expiration dates, medications, and other relevant lists are current.
  • Stays updated on and proficient with any new simulation training technologies introduced to the team.
  • Provide assistance in the other labs as needed.
  • Attends, assists with, and participates in college, division, and department meetings and events relevant to position.
  • Monitor inventory of simulation lab equipment, including disposable supplies, and notify staff of depleted supplies.
  • Monitor functionality of medical and simulator equipment, identify or troubleshoot any malfunctions as necessary.
