Job description

Overall Job Summary

The Vendor Operations Analyst is responsible for driving measurable improvements in vendor performance metrics, including On-Time Shipment and Fill Rate, to improve the Perfect Order metric and positively impact top-line and bottom-line performance.  This role develops and communicates supply chain requirements, analyzes vendor performance trends, and leads proactive engagement with vendor partners to drive best practices and continuous improvement.  The Analyst partners cross-functionally to lead structured, data-driven problem-solving initiatives that enhance processes and support the vendor operations strategic vision. This role also serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the vendor compliance program and is the primary point of contact for vendor requirements, performance metrics, and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
  • Create, analyze, and publish vendor performance reports and insights.  Leverage data analytics and visualization tools to identify trends and communicate the story to drive action and informed decision-making.
  • Initiate and lead cross-functional conversations with vendor partners and internal teams to coach and train on TSC processes and best practices, identify root causes of substandard performance, and collaborate on actions to improve and prevent recurrence. 
  • Serve as primary owner of the vendor compliance system, including validation of compliance data, root cause identification, and recommendation of corrective actions. Review weekly chargebacks and release charges after validation. 
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate vendor training and requirement documentation. Review Vendor Requirements Manual (VRM) frequently to ensure accuracy and clarity and alignment to current supply chain strategies. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate and resolve vendor opportunities with ordering, systems, packaging, quality, carrier relations and product development.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, enhancements, and initiatives from problem identification through implementation to optimize the supply chain. Measure performance improvement. 
  • Onboard new suppliers by communicating supply chain requirements, monitoring initial performance, and providing training on best practices to improve performance.
  • Utilize clear and effective verbal and written communication to present KPIs and project updates to cross-functional teams & executive leadership.
Required Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years in logistics, supply chain, operations; preferably in a retail environment; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

Education: Bachelor's degree required in business, supply chain, operations, logistics, or any related field preferred.  Any combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities
  • Strong and demonstrated analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and Microsoft Office products
  • Capable of solving complex problems
  • Ability to travel to vendors, stores, and distribution facilities 
  • Able to maintain credibility, at all levels of management and throughout the organization
  • Display a detail-oriented approach to work
  • Ability to positively handle conflict
  • Capable of working in a cross-functional environment
