Job Description:
Job Summary
Responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments using the HCS Van Ministry. Provides curb-to-curb service for patients with limited resources within a specified service area. Ensures timely and reliable transportation for a variety of outpatient services and treatments. Coordinates schedules to accommodate patient needs and appointment times. Supports patient access to essential healthcare services through compassionate and dependable service.
Essential Functions
• Transports patients to medical appointments as scheduled.
• Maintains safety of patients during transport using safety belts and necessary accommodations.
• Operates all vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, tie-downs, cellular phones, and pagers.
• Completes written daily schedules and logs to ensure efficient patient transport.
• Performs routine safety and maintenance checks on the vehicle and keeps the vehicle clean.
• Maintains current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Demonstrates a safe driving record and maintains a valid driver's license in good standing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Experience Requirement
3-5 years of driving experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
All experience must be paid and in the same related field.
Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.
Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
