General Description
Under general supervision, the Transportation Specialist works in close coordination with associated program case managers, other program staff and program partners to support non-medical services to Program clients. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transport clients to necessary appointments.
  • Provides client assistance with grocery shopping, prescription pick-up, banking, friendly visiting, light chores, and essential errands.
  • Keeps clients updated of available community resources.
  • Provide information to clients and their service providers.
  • Completes and maintains accurate activity records such as but not limited to the following:
    • Accurate mileage and time sheet records
    • Reports problems, incidents to supervisor in a timely manner
    • Up-to-date client service schedule and accurate records trips and contacts
  • Facilitates vehicle up-keep and repair to include, but not limited to, inspections and oil changes.
  • Must adhere to agency financial policies/procedures (i.e. use of credit card).
  • Completes semi-annual reports on client progress and status.
  • Participates in program fundraising activities.
  • Communicates with the office for messages once per day.
  • Assist program management staff in completion of required clerical and/or administrative work as needed.
  • Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings
  • Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops.
  • Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan. Including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and Diverse
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Combination of education and experience will be considered.
Credentials: Valid and clean NYS driver's license and valid registration and insurance documents.
Experience: One-year professional driving experience preferred.
