Part Time Trainer information

What is a part time trainer?

A part time trainer is a professional who conducts training sessions, workshops, or classes on a part-time basis, rather than working full-time hours. They may specialize in areas such as fitness, corporate skills, technology, or education, and typically work with individuals or groups to help them develop specific skills or achieve particular goals. Part time trainers often have flexible schedules and may work for different organizations or as independent contractors. Their responsibilities include preparing training materials, delivering instruction, and assessing participant progress.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time trainer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Trainer, you typically need subject matter expertise, instructional skills, and relevant educational qualifications or certifications. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), presentation software, and virtual training platforms is often required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and interpersonal skills help trainers engage learners and adjust to diverse training needs. These competencies are crucial for delivering effective training sessions that enhance participant learning and meet organizational goals.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time trainers in balancing multiple responsibilities?

Part-time trainers often juggle their training duties with other professional or personal commitments, which can make time management a key challenge. Additionally, they may need to quickly adapt to varied client needs and learning styles, sometimes with limited preparation time. Collaboration with full-time staff and staying updated with the latest training materials are also crucial, requiring proactive communication and ongoing learning. However, these challenges can be rewarding, offering diverse experiences and opportunities for skill development.

Job description

Join the Lifetime Performance Team

Lifetime Performance is looking to add a part-time trainer to our team.

We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, friendly, intuitive, self-driven, and passionate about helping people. One of the biggest reasons for our success is the relationships we’ve built with our clients. We’re a gym family, and we want someone who values that same sense of community.

About Our Clients

Our primary clientele includes professional and amateur golfers and tennis players. We also work with post-rehab clients and the general population.

A background in golf, tennis, or either sport is a plus, but not required.

We Believe in Education

Education is a huge part of who we are. We would rather invest in helping our staff grow and develop than spend money on anything else.

If you’re looking to learn, build your skills, grow within the fitness industry, and have fun while doing it, this could be the opportunity for you.

Essential Skills

  • Current or ongoing personal training certification
  • Knowledge of Excel and Google Drive
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Some experience coaching or training others
  • A willingness to learn, grow, and take initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with groups and multiple clients—not just one-on-one

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with training clients in small-group training sessions
  • Work alongside multiple coaches on the training floor
  • Develop positive relationships with clients and contribute to our team-oriented culture
  • Maintain a clean, organized training environment
  • Clean and organize equipment and training spaces after morning and afternoon sessions
  • Work on-site; this is not a remote training position
  • Work approximately 20-30 hours per week, including some early morning hours beginning at 6:00 AM during seasonal months

Compensation

  • $25–$30/hour, plus an end-of-year bonus based on company production
  • Salaried position may be available depending on experience

About Lifetime Performance

Lifetime Performance has been serving our community for 15 years. We started in a 1,000-square-foot facility and have grown into a 5,000-square-foot training facility.

Our purpose is simple: to help as many people as possible change their lives for the better—not just in their sport, but in their overall health and well-being.

We’ve built a strong reputation for excellent customer service, smart training programs, and a fun, welcoming environment. Our new facility will give our clients a place to train, connect, and feel at home when they’re not at home or on the golf course.

If you’re passionate about training, enjoy working with people, and want to be part of a team that values relationships, education, and continuous growth, we’d love to hear from you.
