Primary Responsibilities
Perform general repairs and replacements to damaged, deteriorated or otherwise non-functioning conditions found in and about the University buildings and campus. Apply journeyman level knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing or electrical. Additional experience must encompass a basic knowledge from three of the following disciplines: carpentry, plumbing. electrical and painting. Apply skill and responsibility in the use of tools and equipment of respective trades and be responsible for tools, materials and devices to perform tasks according to accepted practices. Perform related duties as required to accomplish tasks.
The successful candidate will be required to plan and execute all major work related to installations, combined with routine and preventative maintenance associated with the university plumbing infrastructure, fixtures and safety checks. Required experience with large volume water distribution, sewer, drainage and ventilation systems. Candidate must have extensive experience related to trouble shooting, diagnosis, repairs of plumbing infrastructure & related equipment and components. Must be well versed in plumbing code and proper installation of infrastructure, fixtures and components. Must have the ability to lead installations of plumbing infrastructure, fixtures and components based on specifications and drawings. Required experience with operation of tools related to repairs and installations, including pro-press, pex, soldering, shark bite and pipe threading. Experience required related to hot water distribution systems including: boilers, gas and electric water heaters and on-demand units. Perform other duties as assigned.
Primary schedule is as follows:
Tuesday-Saturday 3:00pm-11:30pm (Flexible Schedule)
Days Off: Sunday & Monday
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma (or equivalent) required. Two (2) years of experience in journeyman trades level work is required. May consider specific coursework related to this position, toward the journeyman trades experience. Requires operation of equipment related to the trade. Bending, heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and stairs. Ability and willingness to follow verbal and written reports and utilize the work order system. Candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be comfortable working with all members of the university community, including fellow workers, staff, faculty, senior staff and the president. Must be able to meet University requirements to be authorized to drive University vehicles.

SEIU Level E: $19.78-$28.09/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
