Associate Trader Job Profile
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Associate Trader to join our team. This role's primary function will be to monitor client portfolios using the Tamarac trading platform and make determinations as to what to trade when necessary. This position offers a blend of consistency and precision, providing an opportunity for individuals who thrive in a structured environment.
Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily reviews of client portfolios using the Tamarac trading platform
  • Follow rules-based methodology to place trades (primarily in ETFs and mutual funds) with precision and tax efficiency
  • Use independent judgement to determine when to override Tamarac's trade recommendations
  • Complete advisor trade requests in a timely manner
  • Work with 3rd party software and custodian trade desks to execute trades in a cost-effective manner
  • Conduct regular audits of system settings and trading data.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to trading processes and workflows
  • Regularly communicate with advisors and internal tax, estate, and financial planning specialists to best align trading with each client's financial situation
  • Produce quarterly and ad hoc reports.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent experience on a back office operations team for an RIA.
  • Orion experience preferred

  • Strong systems aptitude and background in operations (experience with trading and/or Tamarac a plus).
