MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in any biological science
OR
Bachelor's in any biological science
AND
Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science
OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;
OR
the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
Commitment to diversity. Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in biology, particularly as it relates to the relevance of biology to student's lives, interest, and communities; demonstrated ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within biology.
Experience successfully working in collaboration with full-time and adjunct faculty in coordinating and maintaining currency of curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students.
Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
