Position Summary
The Landing Ministry Leader provides leadership and oversight for The Landing, the student ministry of
Celebrate Recovery designed to help middle and high school students find healing and freedom from hurts,
hang-ups, and habits.
This role is responsible for creating a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment where students can
experience authentic community, growth, and healing while staying connected to the broader Celebrate
Recovery ministry at Central Church.
This individual will lead weekly programming, develop volunteer leaders, build community partnerships,
care for students and families, and help expand the ministry's impact in the community.
Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: 15-22 hours per week
Schedule: Year-round (52 weeks annually)
Reports To: Director of Recovery Ministries
Primary Responsibilities
1. Weekly Program Leadership
Provide leadership and oversight for the Monday night Landing program by ensuring smooth execution of
all programming, including:
Large group worship and teaching time
Small group discussions and connection time
Creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for students
Coordinating volunteers and ensuring program readiness each week
2. Maintain Celebrate Recovery DNA
Demonstrate commitment to the mission and values of Celebrate Recovery and The Landing by:
Learning and implementing the official DNA and structure of The Landing
Ensuring all ministry environments operate according to Celebrate Recovery standards
Training volunteers and leaders to understand and uphold ministry philosophy
Maintaining quality and consistency in all ministry programming
3. Leadership Development
Recruit, develop, and care for ministry volunteers by:
Recruiting and onboarding new leaders for student ministry
Building and developing a strong leadership team
Training leaders to effectively serve students in group settings
Providing regular encouragement, coaching, and accountability to team members
Leadership team development includes:
Training Coach - equipping leaders for effective ministry
Encourager Coach - caring for and supporting team members
Ambassador - representing and promoting the ministry
Ministry Leader - providing direct ministry leadership and oversight
4. Student Care and Crisis Support
Provide pastoral care and relational support by:
Building meaningful relationships with students and families
Meeting one-on-one with students who need additional support and guidance
Responding appropriately during emotional, mental health, or crisis situations
Helping students take healthy next steps toward healing and support
5. Connection to Adult Celebrate Recovery Ministry
Maintain strong connection with the broader Celebrate Recovery ministry by:
Participating in monthly leadership training meetings
Building bridges between student ministry and adult Celebrate Recovery ministry
Participating in or recruiting leaders for regional and national Celebrate Recovery trainings and
conferences
6. Outreach and Community Engagement
Help grow ministry impact by building relationships with organizations that serve students and families,
including:
Schools
Counseling centers
Juvenile detention programs
Community organizations and referral networks
The goal is to increase awareness of The Landing and connect struggling students with life-changing
support.
7. Communication and Team Collaboration
Serve as primary point of communication with the Director of Recovery Ministries
Collaborate with ministry staff regarding administrative needs and program support
Participate in bi-weekly meetings with ministry leadership
Work collaboratively with broader Celebrate Recovery staff and volunteer teams

Ability to lead in both structured ministry settings and unexpected situations
Alignment with the values and philosophy of Celebrate Recovery
Additional Expectations
Because this is a part-time position, the Landing Ministry Leader will work closely with the broader
Celebrate Recovery ministry team to maximize effectiveness and ensure strong collaboration across all
areas of ministry.
Flexibility in schedule is expected, including Monday evening ministry programming, leadership meetings,
and occasional ministry events outside normal hours.
