About Us

Association Management Center (AMC) is a trusted partner to more than 23 leading health and science associations and professional societies. Our talented team of more than 150 professionals provides the day-to-day operational management our clients need to achieve their business goals.

About the Role

The Education Coordinator will provide part-time, temporary coverage for a maternity leave through mid September. This role is 20 hours per week.

The preferred schedule is either Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. CT or Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., with some flexibility based on business and individual needs. This role is primarily remote; however, the team works onsite twice per month.

The Education Coordinator will work closely with volunteers and staff to support educational and professional development initiatives for our client, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO).

ASPHO is a professional organization of more than 2,000 physicians and healthcare providers dedicated to improving outcomes for children with blood disorders and cancers. Its mission is to support and empower the pediatric hematology/oncology medical and scientific community.

Responsibilities:

  • Support education and career development committees and management of faculty and subject matter experts (SME), by assisting with scheduling, logistics, material collection and distribution, meeting minutes, and surveys.
  • Develop and apply proficient working knowledge of abstract and speaker management systems, educational and collaboration platforms, survey tools, Association Management Software (re:Members database), and other web and/or software-based technologies.
  • Coordinate communications with faculty and mentors including collection and tracking of conflict-of-interest disclosures and the implementation of the online speakers' portal.
  • Support the planning, development, evaluation, and record keeping of education products, webinars, and other programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to client team members, service departments, partner organizations and customers regarding programs and initiatives, timelines, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, consistency, and professionalism in project work and communications with members, volunteers, and other constituents.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience, including administrative or project coordination responsibilities (experience supporting education or professional development activities preferred)
  • Excellent customer orientation, interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Consistent attention to detail with demonstrated quality output
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meeting established deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with databases, scheduling tools, Zoom, and online survey platforms required
  • Familiarity with abstract, learning, or speaker management systems preferred
  • Physical: This role is primarily desk-based and involves extended computer use, including typing, data review, and virtual communication. Occasional light lifting may be required. AMC provides reasonable accommodations to support employees in performing the essential functions of the role.

Compensation:

  • $25-29 per hour. Within this range, individual pay is determined by relevant factors, including job-related skills, experience, market data, work location, and education or training.

Location:

  • This is a hybrid role in Schaumburg, IL. Employees work onsite twice monthly, every other Thursday.
  • Applicants must be based in the U.S. and authorized to work full time now and in the future. AMC is unable to sponsor employment authorization.

Association Management Center is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse team in which all employees are welcomed, valued and respected for their individual strengths, perspectives, and contributions.
