About Lifeline:

In 1997, a group of volunteers with a heart for human life founded what is now known as Lifeline. Their vision: to create a Christ-centered resource for anyone affected by an unexpected pregnancy. Did they have any idea how that vision would take root in Kirksville and reach its branches across Northeast Missouri?

Lifeline currently serves over 250 clients and over 9,000 public school students a year. Our goal is to provide support and tangible resources to new moms and dads as they progress through pregnancy and into parenthood. From pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to abuse prevention education programs reaching thousands of teens in over 50 schools, Lifeline extends numerous opportunities for all to experience abundant life.

Position Overview:

The childcare position will ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children of parents participating in educational workshops at Lifeline. This role requires communication and organizational skills, along with experience in child development and infant care. This position is part-time (4-32 hours) with shifts available Monday-Thursday, in-person in Kirksville, MO. No remote options are available for this position.


Requirements of Position:

Prior experience in childcare settings, including child supervision and parent interaction

Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Strong understanding of child development principles

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

A passion for working with children

Must be a committed Christian demonstrating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and faithfully attend church

Agreement with Lifeline's Statement of Faith and Statement of Principle

Fingerprinting background check to be completed before employment


Responsibilities:

Providing nurturing care and supervision for the children in care

Ensuring a developmentally-appropriate activities and environment

Promoting children's physical, social, and cognitive development

Maintaining effective communication with parents, staff, and volunteers

Ensuring a safe and healthy environment, including implementing safety procedures and managing health-related issues

Maintaining accurate records related to children, staff, and program operations


Training and Support:

CPR & First Aid Certification (provided if needed)

Safe Sleep training (provided if needed)

On the job training and support
