Description
East Bay Community Action Program is seeking a friendly, reliable Receptionist to support the Newport Family & Child Opportunity Zone (NFCOZ) at Pell Elementary School. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with families, thrives in a school environment, and wants to make an impact on children’s daily experience.
You’ll be the welcoming face of our after-school program—helping create a safe, positive, and organized environment for students and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and direct families and visitors during after-school program hours
  • Conduct required entrance screenings
  • Verify authorized adults during student pick-up
  • Support student sign-in and sign-out using program technology
  • Communicate with classroom staff using walkie-talkies or similar devices
  • Complete clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and organizing program materials
  • Assist with enrollment tasks and provide information to families
Note: Morning hours (6:30–8:30 AM) are optional for candidates interested in additional shifts. The main role is the after-school program.

Qualifications
  • Warm, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with families
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to problem-solve
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced school setting
