Job summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Fortinet Certified Trainer (FCT) for a contract engagement. The successful candidate will deliver technical training across Fortinet's primary security tracks. You will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, managing lab environments, and ensuring students are prepared for their respective certification exams.
What you will do:
  • Conducts in person and virtual instructor-led training in one or more topic areas.
  • Uses questioning, discussion, and real-time feedback to gauge participant understanding and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Demonstrates consistent classroom and student management to ensure a positive, successful learning environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FortiOS (v7.x/8.x) as well as the overall direction and application of the Fortinet solution portfolio.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot student lab environments using Fortinet's cloud-based lab portals.
  • Travels to customer training sites both inside and outside the Continental United States.
  • Provide real-world context and troubleshooting guidance to professionals seeking certification.

What we expect of you:
To be considered for this role, candidates must hold the following active credentials:
  • Fortinet Certified Trainer (FCT) Status: Must be currently sponsored by an Authorized Training Center (ATC) or be an independent FCT with a valid trainer transcript.
  • Minimum Certification: Active NSE 6 Certification (successfully passed NSE 4 + one NSE 6 exam).
  • Technical Experience: Minimum of 5 years in network security and at least 3 years of experience delivering technical IT training.

Course-Specific Certification Requirements: The candidate must hold the specific certification associated with the courses they are assigned to teach.
  • Expert-level knowledge of FortiGate Next-Generation Firewalls.
  • Proficiency in the Fortinet Security Fabric (FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiClient).
  • Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, and Cloud Security (AWS/Azure/GCP integration).
  • Ability to explain complex security concepts.
  • Prior experience as a consultant or engineer in a Production Fortinet environment, a plus.
  • Active participation in the Fortinet NSE community or XPERTS summits, a plus.

Pay starting at $1150/day 1099, depending on experience and skill set.
Pay ranges may be subject to geographic differentials.
